Middle School Language Students Celebrate Achievements

Written by

Each spring, Friends Academy Middle School language students participate in national language contents in their chosen discipline – Spanish, French, or Chinese – and are recognized for their outstanding performance with either a Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze Medal, or Honorable Mention.

At Friends Academy, faculty help their students approach language fluency in a unique manner by interlacing and embedding a deep cultural understanding as well. In addition to building proficiency in the oral and written use of a second language, students study the literature, culture, and traditions associated with the communities where that language is spoken. “These contests recognize student achievement,” said Middle School Language Convenor Maxime Lavallée. “They provide a motivational opportunity to compete with learners from around the country.”
