Varsity Track takes on Conference Championship

Written by

Twenty members of the Friends Academy Girls and Boys Varsity Track represented Friends Academy in the Conference VI Championship this week at St. Anthony's High School. Head Varsity Track Coach Dave Frazer shared that "while our teams were small in size they were still mighty in stature." Overall, the Girls team finished in 2nd place with 86 points and the Boys team finished in 5th place with 39 points.

Frazer also highlighted that "[although] we did have many Conference Champions and All Conference performers, for a team to be successful it needs all members to be focused and ready when called upon. Our 'big' scorers responded to the bell, but their focus and leadership helped the rest of the team also be ready to race."

Friends Academy finished the meet with three All-Conference, one 2nd All-Conference Champ, four Conference Champs, one National Qualifying Time, and 12 PR's.

  • All Conference Champ: Logan Alvarez (55m), Olivia Carden (55m), Ben Martin (1600m, 1000m)
  • 2nd All Conference Champ: Dijaye Carpenter (Long Jump)
  • Conference Champ:  Logan Alvarez (300m), Olivia Carden (55m HH), Dijaye Carpenter (Triple Jump), Aislinn Frazer (3000m, 1500m, 1000m)
  • National Qualifying Time: Olivia Carden (55m)
  • PR's:  Logan Alvarez, Olivia Carden, Cynthia Eustache, Abby Frazer, Sam Laserson, Aidan Lloves, Ben Martin, Cooper Mott, Ashley Reyes, Tomas Puente Teixador, Charlotte Yanke
