Digital eyes offer a window into arts technique, identity

In Visual Arts teacher Ari Elmayan’s Upper School Digital Design and Illustration 1 class students began with an identity-based project that provided them an opportunity to walk through the different tools of the new digital program.

Students illustrated either one or both of their eyes in their own style while learning about varied lines, digital coloring techniques, alpha lock, light and shadow, and digital layers in the process. Peer closely inside some of the eyes to find descriptive elements of their identities, such as who they are in the context of their friends and families, what their goals and passions are, and who they want to be.
