Pre-K architects build miniature Fall Fair modelWritten by Andrea Miller
Every lower schooler remembers what time of year this is ... the week that the Fall Fair rides are constructed outside of their classroom windows!
This year, the amusement rides provided a source of architectural inspiration for Pre-K as they worked with found materials to engineer and construct a miniature Fall Fair in the classroom.
Creating and working with maps, and in this case, a 3-D conversion of a map, deepens and expands children's understanding of their place in the world. "Maps strengthen spatial reasoning skills and support a more complete understanding of the connections between us all," explained Early Childhood Director Abby Cook-Gonzalez.
"We can't wait to see the Fall Fair come to life later this week!"
