FA heads to worlds! Scores top 10 place in Wharton contest

Written by

Seven juniors from the Stock and Finance Club, Meher Walia (captain), Aaron Labelson, Vir Vinnay Singh, Collin Trust, Zack Grossman, Fengxin Zhang, and Blaise Saad have advanced to the Global Finals of the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition. Considered one of the most prestigious high school investment competitions, over 1,800 schools, representing 66 countries entered this year's competition. Teams were required to examine a case study featuring a potential client and tasked with collaborating to craft an investment strategy to earn his business. The process began in September 2024 with over 5,000 registered teams and 1,800 submitted reports in December, with the top 50 semi-finalists announced in January. From there, the team had to create a video explaining their philosophy and making a further pitch to sway the judge's decision. FA, along with their advisor and US History teacher Josh Hayes, will join the ranks of the top 10 teams in the Global Final, which will be held on the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia this April 25th and 26th.
