Last week, Friends Academy's Varsity Winter Track team competed in the Conference 6 Championship Meet. Athletes who finish in the top 3 in their event are selected as All-Conference and the 1st place finisher in each event is named the Conference Champion.

Senior Logan Alvarez, sophomore Daren Zhong, junior Aislinn Frazer, and sophomore Cynthia Eustache stood out as some of the meet's top performers. Logan earned a triple conference champion in the 55-meter, 300-meter, and the 4x400-meter relay. Aislinn was also a triple conference champion in the 1000-meter, 1500-meter, and the 4x400-meter relay. Daren was named All-Conference in the 1000-meter and the 1600-meter, and broke his own school record in the 1000-meter. Additionally, Daren was also a part of the Conference Champion Relay with Logan, sophomore Aiden Lloves, and freshman Chace Edwards. Cynthia was named All-c=Conference in the 55-meter, 300-meter, and the lead-off leg for the winning 4x400-meter relay. Senior Skylar Cohen and freshman Maia Madeira rounded out that relay.

Another notable performance came from sophomore Cooper Mott, who placed 3rd in the high jump with All-Conference honors, as well as a strong 4th place effort in the 55-meter, in which he broke his own school record. 

"Great job to our other members of the team who competed and ran personal bests!" said Director of Athletics Dr. Diana Parente. The upcoming Nassau county championship meet is on Wednesday, Feb. 7th. "We will be sure to have many of our athletes competing in it!" Dr. Parente added.
