First Graders advance research and interview skillsWritten by Margaret Pegno
As part of our all-school signature programming, first graders recently ventured into our Locust Valley neighborhood to visit a number of local businesses – from a pharmacy to a coffeehouse to a veterinary clinic. Following tours, students asked shop owners pre-prepared questions based on individual research to learn more about topics regarding inventory, customer strategy, and more.
Our first graders sampled store wares and practiced their interviewing and interpersonal communication skills. Throughout the month of February, first graders will continue to visit shops in the local community.
