Friends Academy's

150th Anniversary Oral History Project

As Friends Academy prepares to celebrate its 150th Anniversary, we invite you to help preserve the stories that define who we are. The Friends Academy Oral History Project is a global initiative to collect and archive personal memories from alumni, families, faculty, and friends. These voices—spanning generations and continents—capture the lived experiences that have shaped our school community.

Paul J. Stellato, Head of School

“At Friends Academy, we nurture moral lives that enrich growth, deepen resilience, and build lasting habits to listen, learn, and lead.”

Paul J. Stellato 25th Head of School

Our Partner: Publishing Concepts, LP

We have partnered with Publishing Concepts, LP (PCI), a trusted publishing company that has worked with educational institutions across the country for more than a century—and with Friends Academy over the years on our printed alumni directories—to conduct interviews and update contact information of our community members. Beginning this spring, PCI will reach out to members of our community via email and postcard on behalf of FA.

This outreach is legitimate and authorized.

Your voice is part of our history

Participation is free, and all members of our community are welcome to take part

Simply call the toll-free number provided in the postcard or email you receive, verify your identity by confirming your contact information, and share your story with PCI’s professional interviewers. Participants will also have the optional opportunity to purchase commemorative keepsakes, including a printed coffee-table book featuring collected stories and Friends Academy–branded memorabilia.

Only members of our community who wish to participate will be included. If you prefer not to participate, simply decline when contacted or disregard the outreach.

Protecting your information is important to us. PCI states that:

  • Information collected is used only for the Oral History Project
  • Lists are not sold or leased and are protected using the highest security standards
  • Contact information will not be printed in the publication

Together, these stories will strengthen community connections and inspire future generations of Friends Academy students.

If you have questions about the scope of the project, please contact Director of External Affairs Laurie Hindley at our special Friends Academy Oral History email address.
